Anthony Desir, Moexa

Anthony is SAMI’s Head of Corporate Finance and lead
partner in Asia, where he has developed representation relationships with
leading investors and China SOEs. He has headed SAMI’s Asia investment consultancy
practice since 2007, and is recognised as one of the region’s experts on China’s
OFDI investment practices. He is an experienced professional who has been a
featured presenter at a number of industry forums, and an author and columnist
who has been profiled and interviewed in media outlets that promote independent
market views and analysis including the Financial Times, The Wall Street
Journal, The Mining Journal, CNBC, The South China Morning Post etc. He is an
active University guest lecturer and presenter. His focus is on deal
origination where he develops corporate finance growth solutions for private
and institutional clients. His active client base includes unlisted companies,
global and regional banks, and Chinese entities. He is a board member of
several companies and the Board of Advisers to the Mines & Money Conference
organisation. Anthony has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 1990. His career
began in New York as a banker at Irving Trust Company, and a management consultant
at Ernst & Whinney where he advised money centre financial institutions. He
graduated from Dartmouth College, with honours, in 1981.
